Apple Fritter Rings

Fried to a golden crisp and tossed in cinnamon sugar , these Apple Fritter Rings make a quick and easy dessert or snack.

Apple Fritter Rings

In my home, these apple fritter rings have a reputation of disappearing of the plate as it is made. They smell so delicious when cooking, with the warm and comforting smell of apple and cinnamon, it is pretty irresistible.

What I really love about this recipe is that it uses really simple ingredients to create such bold and amazing flavour. Simple ingredients that you might have in your kitchen right now.

Apple Fritter Rings

MAKING THE APPLE FRITTER RINGS

I prefer to start by making the batter first. This way, you can just toss the apple rings in the batter as you slice them.

The batter is super easy to make. Milk, buttermilk and oil are first mixed in a bowl to which flour, baking powder and sugar are added. This mixture is whisked until well combined. Then just set it aside while you core and slice the apples.

If you do not have buttermilk then make your own by adding 1 teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar to ¼ cup milk. Set aside for 5 minutes before using in the recipe.

Apple Fritter Rings

To remove the core and seeds of the apples, I use a metal cannoli tube to push out the core. .It gets the job done easily and quickly. You can use something similar or an apple corer if you have one.

Or just slice up the apples and press out the seeds and core with a circular object.

Toss the apples into the batter as you slice them.

In a pan on medium, heat the oil. The amount of oil in the pan you are using should be sufficient to able to deep fry these fritters. They need to fry and float up to the surface and not stick to the bottom of the pan.

Fry for about a minute and a half on each side until crisp and golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Roll the fritters in cinnamon sugar while warm.

.

These apple fritters are best eaten warm and on the same day that it has been prepared.

Give these a try the next time you want a quick and easy dessert or snack, a delicious treat in under 30 minutes.

Enjoy ♥

Apple fritter rings, brilliant idea. I’ve just added it to my “Must Make” list. I think I’ll be dipping mine in vanilla sauce.

What is a vanilla sauce? Do you mean vanilla frosting like you drizzle on danishes??

We need to be neighbors. I’ve always been afraid of deep frying but your fritters look so perfect! I want you to teach me how to fry! And then I want to help you eat the fritter rings :). Have a great weekend, Ashika!

Cinnamon and apples are a match made in heaven. I love these apple fritter rings Ashika. They remind me of one of the pastries that were available for breakfast on our recent holiday in Zanzibar. Are you sure you weren’t sending them there? 🙂
