  • ½ cup (25 g) bran flakes cereal

Optional

  • Add the bran flakes and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and enjoy soon after blending. Otherwise, the bran flakes absorb liquid, making the smoothie much thicker.
Recipe Notes
Sweetener: This smoothie is lightly sweetened with honey, maple syrup, or sugar. Adjust the amount to suit your taste, or leave it out if your blueberries are naturally sweet.
Bran flakes: Any brand of plain bran flakes cereal works well in this recipe.
Yogurt: Plain yogurt or plain Greek yogurt both work well. Greek yogurt will make the smoothie slightly thicker and creamier.
Milk: Whole milk gives the creamiest texture, but 2%, skim milk, or your favorite dairy-free milk can be used instead.
Blueberries: Fresh and frozen blueberries both work well in this recipe. Frozen blueberries act like tiny ice cubes as they blend, creating a frostier smoothie without the need for added ice.
