Grease and line an 8-inch (20 cm) square pan with baking paper, leaving an overhang to make it easier to lift out later.
Preheat the oven to 356°F / 180°C (160°C fan).
In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour (self raising flour) and dried fruit with a spoon.
Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir until everything is well combined. The mixture will be quite thick, so be sure to scoop up any flour from the bottom of the bowl and use a sturdy spoon or spatula for mixing.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until it has a light golden crust and base.
Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar (icing sugar) to decorate if you like.

Recipe Notes
1.Self rising (self raising flour)If you don't have any on hand, you can easily make your own by adding 1 ½ level teaspoons of baking powder to 1 ¼ cup (150g) plain or all-purpose flour. Just whisk them together before using in this recipe.2. Dried fruit mix: dried fruit mix: I used raisins, candied cherries, and dried cranberries, but you can use any dried fruit you like, such as dates, figs, or dried mango. Feel free to add chopped nuts for extra crunch. The exact ratio of fruit isn’t important—just make sure the total is 1 ¼ cups (250g).3. Sweetened condensed milk:make sure you don’t accidentally grab evaporated milk, as it won’t work in this recipe.
