Servings 15 cookies

Ingredients

FOR THE COOKIES

  • ¾ cup / 180g Nutella or any hazelnut or chocolate spread SEE NOTE 1
  • 1 ¼ cups / 150g all purpose / cake flour
  • 1 egg

FOR THE FROSTING / ICING

  • 3 Tablespoons Nutella

Instructions

To make the cookies

  • Mix the Nutella and egg in a bowl until combined. Add in the flour and mix well.
  • After mixing, you can either place the mixture in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Chilling the mixture will make it easier to roll. However, if you find that you can easily roll and shape the mixture without it sticking to your hands, then just go ahead and shape it immediately after mixing.
  • Using a small rounded spoon or your finger, make a dent in the middle of each rolled out shape.
  • Bake in a preheated oven of 356°F / 180°C for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and place the cookies on a wire rack. Allow to cool completely before frosting with Nutella.

To frost the cookies

  • You can either just drop a ¼ teaspoon of Nutella or pipe the Nutella decoratively into the dent of each cookie.

Notes

  1. Absolutely any hazelnut or chocolate spread can be used for this recipe. As long as it has the thick creamy consistency of Nutella, it is perfect.
